Polyopticon auto-mailer function success
After serveral emails from super-keen Site Content Architect (A.Gibson), thanking me for my continued attempts to resolve this issue, I thought that I should actually sit down and nut out the problem. (Dont you love a fuckoff long sentence)
After saving configs and exporting the mysql database, I completely purged and removed Apache, Php4 and the much troubled Sendmail, reinstalling and putting things back together with fingers crossed.
I arsed around with phpmailer and the drupal mail module to no avail.
So back to sendmail...
Instead of sending the confirmation emails from Donatus (web server) they are being relayed through everyones favorite ISP Telstra Bigpond.
Once I had configured sendmail to fuction in this way it worked straight off the bat.
Unlikely it is that anyone will understand\appreciate this, nor care I know, but this forum is struggling for content so I decieded to post my trials.

Well done.
There is nothing like persistance. Did you have that Sendmail ebook I sent you? I hope not. Just delete it if you do. Well done. Now I won't have to authenticate new users manually. Not that there has been a flurry of people registering or anything. Just wait Tom. When we are rich and famous they will come like flies to shit... ?? hang on that makes us shit, that is not right. Oh well, you know what I mean. Ummm. Yeah good. Anyhoo, three cheers for Tom;

The firefox community has offered us plenty cash to support their push for total browser domination.
Ok I'm full of shit.
This link (look to your left) is in support of Firefox and for the love of the browser
As I see from apache access logs, that you too are continuing the fight against the evil 'IE'mpire

Yes, I...
Yep, I fully endorse the use of non-IE Browsers. Microsoft, although sometimes necessary, are a uselss bunch of profiteering Americans set to weaken the the worlds cultures, economies and computing diversity everywhere it can. Go mozilla and firefox, and every other piece of open sourced software. If you use Internet Explorer (IE) then you are part of the problem. Become a solution and help the net become a more interesting and safe place. Download Firefox or a similar product, Netscape, Mozilla, etc and reap the rewards. Good one Tom.
Wouldnt instant messaging make more sense?
I get the feeling that it is just you and me conversing withing the confines of this website Alex.
Is there anybody out there? (To quote Roger Waters)
Are you taking the "If you build it, he will come" approach?
Shit, 2 references to God in one night
I think working with a Christian is having an odd effect on me
If anyone is out there...
I am not the christian to which he refers. And to answer your questions Tom- Yes MSN messenger would be easier but would go somewhat against the grain of this thread and there are people out there and they are having a look, but they are not posting. Some say it is intimidating, others- they just want to look. Unfortunatley (for this forum) the friends and colleges I am surrounded with are either shy or e-tards, or both (no offence). I hope that when I am in Japan people can kind of virtually travel with me and this may bring some more interest to the site.
Instant messaging, exclusively = msn???
That is a very naive response young Alex
I am aware of Yahoo, AOL, Jabber, Lotus, Miranda, Java, HNS, etc
I said msn 'cause thats what we always use to chat. Even though it is the IE of instant messaging. However, I still am naive.
