I am quite excited by this idea.
A Second Life Artists Run Initiative...
Of course the first objection comes when you find out how much it costs - SL is by no means cheap... but perhaps there are ways around this little problem.
Start small, and buy our way up to an island
get funding/ sponsorship/ etc
get a cooperative together to share the costs
combinations of the above
other ideas??
The thing that interests me beyond the administration of the project is the potential content. SL is rife with contemporary issues... corporatisation, public-private space, hyper-reality, rationality and truth, etc
