J.E. Duncan often tries to justify his crimes by arguing that society created him, and that the social system treats sex offenders in such a way that promotes and excuses sexual misconduct. He makes several attempts to pose himself as diseased by society, remorseful (of seemingly every social ill bar his own crimes) and intelligent. He is reasonably articulate, but many of his arguments are seriously flawed with inconsistancies and unethical positions.
