City Creatures and other ideas
City Creatures:
*Clear plastic pipes attached to them and back under the table and flopping around and pumping gunk all over them and the audience and the table.
*The Marys tuck large napkins into the necks of the audience and warn them that they might need them.
*Bodies of performers under cities are smeared in sooty make-up.
*Michael - perhaps if you could caste found objects/junk in fibre glass and use them for the moveable parts of the City Creatures.
*If the City Creatures had their arms pinnned back adn used mechanical arms from out of the cities on their backs to pick up the bones.
*All kind of things can come out from under the table cloth to be devoured by the City Creatures - like apples and wind up puppy dogs.
*Perhaps the City Creatures can light up cigars and play poker for the bones.
*The table and chairs are half buried under dirt/compost.
*There is a real live tree growing out of the surface of the table.
*Small piles of dirt dotted throughout the space with candle and cheap plastic figurine of Jesus or Mary.
Foyer:
*Perhaps it's symbolically more potent to offer people apples on entry than wine or bread?
Under the stage is:
*below the tomb
*the fetid heart
*bowels of the Earth
*something simple like a lone candle
*maybe something to do with books, or The Book
*Or a pig wallowing down there like at the bottom of an Asian toilet.
