Feedback feedback

Submitted by Alex Gibson on Tue, 03/10/2006 - 16:16.

Excellent points Rochelle, I agree with them all. Many of the challenges we are being confronted by are so exciting and interesting.

One thing to note, that I should have mentioned before is that July-August (during the Sensless showing) was the busiest period for polyopticon.org browsers ever. In those four weeks we had 286 different browsers look at the Senseless forum. Thats more than we had at the showings... The problem is still that only 0.1% of those people posted comments. I think people were curious from the flyers and were not adequately engaged to participate, for a rane of reasons.

This is great in terms of people being interested with the process of making Senseless, so how can we build on that interest in order engage people better?
I think this can be done by creating an experience that is compelling, open and inviting. There may be some education required to make people feel more comforatbale and inclined to post their feedback. Of course, otherwise we could simply hand out feedback forms at the end of performances... I have seen that work.

And once again I agree Rochelle - there is nothing more engaged than smelling. The intimacy and shared space of smell is an intriguing and poetic space. My aim with Polyopticon.org is to create a smelly online space. If not literally, then at least metaphorically...
